In order to lose body fat and maintain a healthy lifestyle, you must observe the ratio of the types of fat you consume and what kind you consume. Polyunsaturated fats are necessary but, you must consume them with food and in certain ratios. You might be causing some damage down there.
If you love those long rides during the weekend, you might have now to do some rethinking. Cycling might be useful for your thighs and heart but it is not a good idea considering your lower parts (I mean men only).
Overloading your reproductive organs can affect some of the nerves which stimulate your ?flag? to reach only half of the mast instead of flying with all its might. Research has thrown light on how cycling can affect sperm.
Twenty volunteers took part in an experiment ? 10 of them long-distance bicyclists and another ten using exercise bikes; all of them 25 years old. There was a questionnaire on their training history, health, nutrition and lifestyle. The researchers locked each in a separate room to get specimen of their semen. (OK, OK, they might have as well given them magazines or special kinds of films to watch in those rooms.)
It turned out that the bicyclists had lower proportion of normal semen as compared to damaged ones (sharp-pointed or strange-looking ones). Whether this aggravates their ability to impregnate their wives or girlfriends could be the subject of another research. Until then ? do not cycle so much! Some general guidelines: 1. One tablespoon of flax oil per day. 2. Two to three tablespoon of olive oil per day. 3. One fish oil softgel per 20 Ibs of bodyweight per day. 4. Keep all the other dietary fat consumption low. |
